Feeddler RSS Reader Pro App Reviews

Still an Excellent app

Use daily - like how you have kept it simple all this time. I dont like the overly complex layouts of competing readers.

The best there is

I LOVE this app!! It is powerful and works flawlessly for me!!

Great for old eyes

It took me a while to find an RSS reader that would just feed me easy-to-read text. This is it. Other feed readers focus on visuals, on trying to look like magazines, with giant pictures and gray type. Young designers dont get it, but anyone over 40 knows this is absurdly hard to read. Feeddler gets it right. Black text. Pinch to make font smaller, unpinch to make font bigger. Simple. The interface is clean. Lists of articles can show up to four lines of preview text, so you can quickly see whether you want to read the whole article. If not, mark it as read with a tap. Ive tried many, many, feed readers. This is the best one for simplicity and readability.

Beat replacement for GReader, destroys battery

Its been my favorite RSS reader for nearly six years. However, there are some serious defects in the app. On my iPhone 6+, if I open the app when my phone is 100% and let it sit, I will be at 50% in just a few hours, even though my phone locks at five minutes. Seemingly it does not go into non active background but stays in active background/foreground and just destroys battery life with all its fetching.

Great for late night reads

I use Feeddler to catch up during night feelings with my baby. I love that the app now keeps external sites in night mode--no more being blinded when I click a link.

Technology as an Accelerator - Feeddler RSS Reader Pro 2

Finding the right RSS Reader to match your needs can be quite difficult. If you need to filter through many RSS feeds to gather information that is important for work, Feeddler RSS Reader Pro 2 is for you. I am in medical affairs for a pharmaceutical company and it is a requirement of my job to stay on top of the current literature and research. I subscribe to many RSS Feeds from scientific journals, medical societies and pharmaceutical companies. There are days I feel overwhelmed with information. The last thing I want is to have my RSS feeds hit my inbox or go into an RSS feed folder in Outlook. Over the years, I have tested many different RSS Readers and have found most to be built for social news. Many of the social news RSS readers have a magazine-like format. This format is enjoyable for downtime when all you want to do is scan through pictures for relaxation. If your need is to find an RSS Reader that will allow you to quickly scan through your RSS Feeds and mark them for easy retrieval as needed, nothing is better than Feeddler RSS Reader Pro 2. The “scroll & marked as read” function allows me to scan through feeds quickly throughout the day. The ability to “star” feeds or better yet, put feeds in folders and/or tag feeds, allows me to go back to the feeds that are important to my work. This is one of the few applications that really is using technology as an accelerator for work. Enjoy!

Best app!

I use it every day.

I love the app... However...

This is the app the forces me to stick with Apples products. There is nothing better for keeping up with all the news that I am interested in. The latest upgrade to the app unfortunately has taken a step back by removing Instapaper from the direct send to list. It is still available, however to send an article to Instapaper you now need to make four clicks instead of two for each article you save. That being said, I still find this as the best RSS reader out there and support it with four stars.

Great App

Love the app and have had it a few years. Recently Ive had a sporadic problem where the feeds have no shortened links when I try to post to Twitter. Anyone else have this problem? Ive emailed support but get no response.

A really good RSS reader, usually.

This is my favorite RSS reader. Its strengths are that it is very fast, you can pinch and unpinch to set the font size easily and precisely, and it has a very readable typeface. Another strength is its Full Text view, which shows the full article, nicely formatted, and usually with any pictures, without going to the built in browser. Another plus is that the current browser seems better than the last one, but sometimes doesnt work at all, and still lacks a reader feature. The apps weakness is that Full Text view very often isnt. Some feeds with long RSS entries are treated as full text when they arent. Others dont render correctly at all, and the content is unreadable. I pointed this out to the developer last year, and very little was done to improve things. Also, unlike more contemporary readers, theres no search function-- which is really unsatisfactory with the new hooks available in iOS 9. The takeaway is that this is a handy RSS reader, but it cant be your only one-- or youll miss a lot of what youre trying to read.

Great App. I use it every day

Feeddler 2 is fast and easy to use and works well on my iPad and iPhone. Perfect! This is my go-to RSS reader. I use it every day.

My grandpa had his newspaper, I have FeedlerPro

This is the best tool for getting through all my news and blog subscriptions on my iPad and iPhone.

Exactly what it needs to be

...and not more than it should be. Having tried almost all RSS readers, this still seems the best executed of the bunch. My only gripe is the removal of Pocket from the built in sharing list. Its less convenient to have to click through to the OS sharing list to do so now.

Feeddler with bazqux

Great app to quickly get through newsfeeds. I use feeddler all the time. I wish there was a way to shrink or eliminate headlines/author/date that shows up on top of each article.

Just wasted $4.99

Really no Instapaper support! This is supposed tho be the "Pro" version and updated? Also found strange UX issues. For example I added my Feedly account and found it brought in folders with unique ID codes in the folder names.

Missing "swipe to delete"

Could you please add a "swipe to delete" or "swipe to mark as read" (or both) functionality so that Im not forced to open-close a story to accomplish this? If this is added I promise to raise my rating to 5 stars.

Very good

I use it regularly, one of the best all around rss readers if not the best.

Long-time favorite RSS reader

Ive been a big user of RSS for many years, with hundreds of feeds that I follow. Fairly quickly I realized that a mobile browser is not a robust way to read, and tried many reader apps. I quickly settled on Feedler and have used it for years, and it remains the best Ive seen. It got to the point that when Google Reader was shut down, I limited my choices for next host based on Feedler support - that was more important than their native interfaces. Feedler is exceptionally good at presenting large quantities of updates without getting in the way. The interface is both minimal and very usable. I am very fond of the Readability mode for reading the full article without loading the full page and the megabytes of crap advertising widgets which take forever on mobile; it makes it possible to read some of the worse offenders at all. Feedler is a fundamental part of my RSS experience, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Seriously, one of my favorite apps!

This is a great RSS reader, nicely designed and easy to use. It also has excellent support for assistive technologies, something I greatly appreciate since I am visually handicapped. Its quite flexible, and allows me to push articles to other applications with ease. Heck, if it supported Voice Dream my life would be just about perfect. Update: it continues to work great, still wish it interfaced with Voice Dream.

Absolutely Awesome

Ive been using this for well over a year and have probably 20x feeds I monitor. The app works well and I appreciate the developer including a Night Mode. I send a lot of articles to social media and the URL shortening is particularly handy. I have recommended this to many friends who also love it.
